Those people, and god bless whoever they are out there, are an increasing rarity as the rich get richer, the poor get poorer, and the middle class keeps shrinking. If you can make your house payments for your area’s median house, and make car payments on your area’s most popular level of car, and pay the insurance on the above, and pay for your family’s health-insurance, and pay for your kid’s college education, and pay for home-cooked food and clothing that is average for your area, and still have money left over for charities, political contributions, vacations, and other ‘discretionary purchases’, or could have all those things if you hadn’t foolishly purchased above the local median level of house or carthen you are rich.

When you can pay for food, clothingshelter, and health care, now and for the rest of your life. To be rich I guess will vary by each individual. Rich would mean to me to be able to pay cash for everything I need or wanted and even did not need. It is hard in this day and age to put a number on it but to be able to pay for everything with cash on hand would most likely mean you would need at least 2 million a year income from whatever the source. I would be happy with much less like k like you make Jack.
